Dear Hiring Manager,
When network operations face $200M+ in identified defects with no clear path to resolution, companies need a leader who can move from diagnosis to delivery at scale. Over the past three years at Amazon, I've done exactly that—identifying root causes in complex operational systems and building data-driven solutions that have delivered $130+M in realized cost savings across four major initiatives.
My approach combines rigorous statistical analysis with relentless execution. I don't just optimize existing processes—I build transformative tools that enable entire organizations to operate at a higher level.
Examples of delivered impact:
BAE (Buffer Analysis Engine) – I developed an automated ML-driven system that recalculates optimal network buffer configurations weekly. Rather than relying on manual, reactive adjustments, BAE uses statistical modeling and machine learning to maintain configuration efficacy at scale. Delivered: $57M in annualized savings.
FLOW (Performance Monitoring Platform) — Recognizing that operational teams lacked a unified view of performance metrics, I led the development of FLOW, consolidating KPIs from multiple data sources into a single platform serving 13+ teams. This visibility enabled cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks in real time and drive lean transformation initiatives. Delivered: $30M in annualized savings.
TUMBL (Time Under Minimum Backlog) — I built a solutions-led dashboard and underlying AI model to identify when associate capacity falls below minimum staffing levels, quantifying the cost of that idling. This visibility drove targeted staffing interventions across the network. Delivered: $23M in annualized savings.
MDD (Multis DPMO Deck) – I root caused, and developed a modern automated reporting and machine learning tool that created proactive alerts as sites began to exceed their total capacity creating backlog and dwells. This tool automatically recommends headcount shifts to balance shipment count. Delivered: $28M in annualized savings.
Beyond individual initiatives, I've established a culture of continuous learning—mentoring 30+ analysts in data science, statistical inference, and visualization, and leading the Configure Your Career program to create clear advancement pathways for emerging leaders. My technical foundation includes advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, ETL pipeline architecture, and enterprise dashboarding (Quicksight, Tableau, PowerBI). I hold an MBA and certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt), Scrum, SDLC, AI Product Management, and UX Design. Some examples of my work can be found on my portfolio at www.AndrewHallinson.com
I'm drawn to roles where I can apply this combination of analytical rigor, product thinking, and leadership to drive measurable organizational transformation. I'd welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experience aligns with your team's goals.
Sincerely,
Andrew Hallinson
